Public Speaking is a skill that enables an individual to interact with a mass on any topic. Where for students public speaking has been proved to be a very important skill for their development and future life.

I believe it is subjective as public speaking can be a huge fear for some and can be a cup of tea for others. Public speaking in an individual is naturally affected by his/her societal structure, family environment and norms but it isn’t connected to being extrovert or introvert.

As a student myself I believe public speaking is a very essential life skill. And here are the reasons why public speaking is important for a student.

Brain Development:-

Public Speaking compels one to think. And thinking is hard. Just like our body. Imagination and thinking are the process that exercises and develops our brain. Public speaking can compel us to learn, think and write about a subject which in general cases we don’t think about.

Public speaking in students makes them develop a habit for searching, assembling and themselves learning about a subject. Public speaking makes students work on their presentation skills and overall makes a huge impact on the development of the brain.

Overall Development:-

Public speaking is not a single stand alone skill. It comprises various skills such as speaking, reading, writing and many more. Public speaking also encourages thinking in students. And also triggers curiosity, creativity and development of confidence.

Whereas as a student development of self-awareness and confidence is very important for the development of a good character in them. Public speaking also comprises mass handling, body postures and voice modulations too. Whereas public speaking can also be a gateway toward intrapersonal skills development and critical thinking in students.

Hence practicing public speaking improves the various spectrum of development of child psychology as well as child’s confidence.

Public speaking is a key aspect for employment in the sectors of community health, community work and social organizations but now it is an important skill for the job which traditionally doesn’t require it. Public speaking can be your key skill for uplifting in your corporate job and it can hold huge significance for applying in the workplace nowadays.

Whereas for good entrepreneurship public speaking is almost a must. An entrepreneur should have the capacity to share his products and reasons to consume it vividly. Public speaking is important for branding of their business.
