"How about changing the future story of the Internet?"

Introduction
So, here comes one of the least noticed things in the world: the degradation of the Internet. The same internet that was initially formed into a beautiful, interwoven network by Tim Berners-Lee, for which he ignored millions of dollars. Also the foundation of those first 10,000 lines of magic has now been contributed to by thousands of programmers, powering over 90 percent of the internet's servers, billions of mobile phones, and over 900 of the top 1,000 supercomputers running using Linux; an open source project by Linus Torvalds. The internet was among the initial steps toward the Utopia of human civilization, one that could have enabled information and allowed people to experience their personal freedom at its peak. A place that no one but everyone owns of equal priority. A socialist network that cuts off every authority for conducting good work.
And NOW?
People don't even know what the internet stands for, or what it all started for. A backward cycle is running, where what the internet was dominantly supposed to support has been weakened. It's now a place you fear most to be present in. The dream of making it a place where people can break their boundaries, meet new people, collaborate, and work together is now the most fearful thing to do. The spirit of helping is lost, just as it's lost in the real world but it surely still dwells among us in many ways we don’t know. Like how we didn't know about Linus and Tim, or how we didn’t know so many things in life that we took for granted were sacrifices made by many loving souls. Just think of dying for rights and freedom of people you won't even meet, or people you maybe won't even like. Humanity is ignored until its spirit does something you can’t swipe up to like reels, until it touches your life and makes it better, even if you don’t realize it.
And that's the spirit that gave normal people the ability to work tirelessly to create the internet, whose ideas and capacities we all forget. A place to share your ideas and listen to others all around the world, as we all know. But we don’t realize how big of a power that is. A power people would have to pay a handsome amount of money for. All in your service, for free.
Now, that glorious idea and that glorious power mostly fuel propaganda, doom-scrolling, show-offs, and quick dopamine hits. And how can I forget how badly the internet boosted the addiction to nudity and porn. Still, we don’t even know the depth of negativity the internet holds. Social media started by quoting about bringing the world closer; now it is what most of the internet is. And social media is now what everyone uses and what everyone hates. Social media has become synonymous with the internet, where, for a large chunk of people, it is the internet. Especially for mobile users, the internet has just come down to Instagram (or whatever social media they use), online shopping, and a few uses of search engines for finding information.
Conclusion
Even after studying computer science as my high school subject, I never would have known any of these things if I hadn't researched it myself. The internet is full of monopolies and propaganda. As it is among the most revenue-generating sectors, no doubt capitalism will serve people what they want. And here's how the sweet dream of making a safe place collapsed. I am not being melodramatic; I know even if everything went fine with the Internet, it would still contain a few bad, problematic sites or spaces. These wrong things would have existed even if the dream came true. But that wouldn't be the leading voice. The internet wouldn't be accused of so many frauds, suicides, or mental disorders. And keeping the phone connected to the internet wouldn't be a way to influence others, but rather to make them aware.
So yeah, things didn’t go as expected, and they rarely do. The internet is a dynamic place. And we need to know that we are all complete and wonderful. That being your way is not bad. Wait, but why this? Because that's how monopolies exist: by making you feel bad and hate yourself. So, let’s not give in to that. Love yourself. Love your life and embrace the process of becoming better. Become the voices for those you can. Loving yourself isn’t about trying to show that you are better and it’s not about being vain. The internet can be wonderful if we make ourselves wonderful. Share and consume content that deserves love and support. Get involved in positive efforts of advocacy and change for good. Or simply get yourself a break and take the internet as it should be taken.
