Hypocrisy, as stated by its definition, refers to the act where someone presents themselves differently than what they are. It’s used in an act of fraud or mistrust, and it's one of the values that reduces trust among people. We expect a person to have a constant reaction to a situation, as predictability enhances trust and our sense of safety. For which I too believed about it as a bad virtue to have. But now, I have spent 18 years in this world trying to understand where happiness lies. We live in a world that doesn’t provide any of us with a perfect manual to live. I now truly believe that sometimes, or even a lot of times, being able to push yourself beyond what you have established yourself in other eyes or even your eyes is extremely necessary. This value is quoted as being paradoxical, but I don’t want to whitewash hypocrisy with any other word. In my context, hypocrisy refers to what it actually means (i.e to act differently than what one once would) without taking the notion that it’s wrong.
I believe each of us is constantly growing and figuring things out. Having the courage to be a hypocrite and choose what you want is really important. Our past is our past, and it’s not supposed to hold you back from the decision you want to take. I have observed people making their decisions based on the image they have formed in another’s mind, which ruins the whole point of a mortal life. While making people believe you are someone you are not and later ditching them is bad, a happier and greater value is in being a hypocrite and letting them know you are not that, rather than making a grand plan to keep up your lies.
Also, I believe, as said by many people already, that the greatest feeling and the biggest of ideas sometimes can’t be sung, written, or danced. I am a big believer in it too. Right now, when I am writing this, I could be the person that knows billions of words from all languages in the world, but what I actually feel can never be expressed in words. The same goes with any art form; even the greatest of artists can only mirror their emotions, but never make people feel them exactly, just like how a perfect machine is impossible. The silver lining here is that artists can express their emotions in such a way that it touches you with those emotions, but you also can never be able to express it in any form. The point of me expressing this is that divinity can’t be expressed in either a good or a bad word. Hypocrisy is just a word that describes an act that can never be stated as "bad." Hypocrisy is what occurs everywhere, from a tool to intrigue audiences by a filmmaker to a soft imaged politician taking a bold but necessary move.
We live in a confusing world. There are thousands of ideas and stances around us. And nowadays over information in social media confuses and misleads a lot of us. And I believe the ability to be a hypocrite and go against a misleading decision you once made is necessary. Happiness lies in balance. It lies in freedom to have your choices. A man asks for work but needs quiet time with family. We need to be the dumbest of a student to learn the smartest of ideas. We need to think about our rights but also our duties. We need to make the toughest of decisions but also have the kindest of heart. And everyone in our lives knows how two contracting and absolutely opposite ideas have to have a common existence for balance in our lives. Even in nature, you can see how the smallest of animals have the largest strength on the basis of their mass, or how the greatest of energy is extracted from the smallest of particles. And that’s exactly why having the courage to be a hypocrite when necessary is natural, needed, and non-harmful.
While stating this I don't mean to be a person without any values or character. You need to support your values and I don't even mean for you to adapt to situations which will bring you comfort in a wrong way. Like being a corrupt person because you are surrounded by them. Having strong values and opinions is super necessary. What I expect from you as a reader is you already have core values to support good things or being respectful and nothing even this writing is not there to remove good values but to express you about how even in supporting your good values like kindness not only meant agreeing with people sometimes offering a difficult truth, even if it makes you temporarily uncomfortable or seems to contradict your past self.
