Introduction
Nepal is full of voices and emotions which are the seed for birth of art. The history of art in Nepal goes back to thousands of years. Still today art, architecture and culture remains as the most precious glory for Nepal. Cravings and sculptures in Nepalese temples dating back to thousands of years ago state how skilled and meditative Nepalese were. Although Nepalese art has been pacing down or even erasing itself through various aspects.
But there are still many art spaces in Kathmandu promoting, conserving and giving hope for development of art in Nepal. These spaces for art not only proves the existence of art but also shows the views captured within Nepalese artists to the world. Due to which I have collected 6 art places in Nepal with details.
I have worked with Ms.Sudikshya Dongol (founder of Kalashala | Art Content Creator | Volunteer at Mikha Nepal) for writing this article as I haven’t explored enough of art in Kathmandu. She provided me with this list of these art spaces for this article, which was a great help. Also it is among the most fun and happy articles I have ever written. I hope this article will be beneficial for these art spaces as well as to all my readers for easy navigation or exploration of the artistic side of Kathmandu and overall Nepal.
- This list is not a hierarchical list nor a top 6 list but just a list of art spaces I discovered.
- Do get updated before going to the exhibitions.
